IOMC 2008 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

 
* How can I make sure if I have successfully downloaded the Conference Portal Software?
It is also recommended that participants check their connection before the conference, by trying to access our configuration room at http://tinyurl.com/ypspwr
 
* Where can I download the IOMC Conference Portal Software?

If you can watch the introductory to Elluminate through the link, it means you have successfully downloaded the software.
 
* What if I have problem downloading JAVA?
Java is required to run the conference portal. If you receive a notice indicating that you need to install Java, but receive error message while trying to download Java, please download Java easily through this link: http://support.webalive.biz/index.php?_m=downloads&_a=viewdownload&downloaditemid=3

 

* We want to login from one computer. Are we allowed to do that and what is the procedure?

Yes, you are allowed. You and your colleagues can login all from one computer.

 

* Can we give a joint presentation with each participating author speaking some part of the presentation?

Yes! You can.

 
* What if my  internet connection stops working during the presentation?

Please ensure so that your connection works well during the conference, however, if for any reason this happens, the session can not be extended or re-scheduled. Please check your connection before the conference

 
* Will my  paper be published in one of the participating journals?
Your paper will be specially submitted to the conference Journal Partners according to their relevance. Despite the agreement between IOMC and these journals and the fact that your papers will be reviewed again by the journals, however, it is a bonus for you because your paper has already been accepted by IOMC and this can be a positive point in the review process by journals.
 
* Should all authors present the paper?
The presentation can be either be done by one of the authors or by some/all of them. The authors are free to decide on this.
 
* How should be the presentation delivered?
The presentation should be shown as a PowerPoint Presentation and/or other media fromats which will be shown to participants from the computer of the presenters using the Conference Portal. Besides, presenters should present with audio using a microphone. In case the presenters have webcam, they can also broadcast their live picture. (If some of the presenters do not have microphone availability, please let us know in advance, however, even in this case they can  make their PowerPoint file so that more details are available on each slide, and they can use the text chat available in the Conference Portal to communicate with the participants.
 
* What is the credibility of the certificate we will receive?
The Certificate will be issued by the International Online Knowledge Solution Provider (IOKSP), in association with our main educational and strategic partners. Besides, the Conference chairs, as well one/more representatives from the Program Scientific Committee (PSC) or International Advisory Committee (IAC) will sign the certificates.
The certificate will certify your presence and presentation in the FIRST International Online Medical Conference (IOMC 2008).
 
* Will the judges be seeing our presentation online when we will present it?
One Moderator has been selected for the conference, which are from the best and most experienced professors attending IOMC Conference. Though, we've selected some very deserving medical students as moderators for some students' sessions in order to enhance the student body of conference. The judges, who mainly are our International Advisory Board Members will cover the presentations and based on the authors performance, and review result of full papers, the best paper award will be announced some days after the conference.
 
* Will the abstract or report be published in the publication?

Yes! All abstracts and full papers (reports) will be published in the conference proceedings. However, it requires all authors to already fill in the Authors Agreement Form which has been emailed to them and return it back to us via email.
